First impressions: Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2

I purchased Left 4 Dead 2 recently and last night I finally got a chance to try it out.
My first impression was it was simply gonna be a remake of the first with new characters
and new weapons. Well, i was basically right, but not 100%.
There are many improvements on the game and believe it or not...it is harder.

Now, the new characters, make a nice story, but nothing spectacular. The new weapons, they're
pretty sweet. You have the classics...like shotguns and assault rifles and old faithful...the
dual pistols. In addition you now have a magnum...numerous melee weapons like an axe and samuri
sword. As well as more powerful weapons like a combat shot gun, grenade launcher and AK 47, as
well as laser sight upgrades for you weapons. Now I don't want to spoil too much, but there
are also new thrown weapons...but you'll have to play to find them out.

As for the gameplay....controls are the classic Left 4 Dead style, however I expected it to be
as easy but it really wasn't. To start off I'm in a smoke filled condo. that really made seeing
difficult. There are much more dark places that infected can come out of at any time. Now,
I fancy myself somewhat of a gamer...(JerichoNT is my gamertag) so I at least try to start a
game the first time on Normal difficulty. This may have been a mistake. In two parts...and
I'm only on the first campaign...I've found myself trying to reach a goal while infected swarm.
In the first game, they came, they stopped. Not this one, the continue to come until you reach
your goal. Making it a somewhat frustrating but challenging game.

In conclusion, Left 4 Dead 2 is a good sequel and a great addition to what could be come a
memorable franchise. It's frustrating as all hell...but fun!

While I'm working on my next article...I thought I'd give a little look around Jericho's Room. It's kinda like Pee Wee's Playhouse. Enjoy!
