Named for its 64 bit CPU, the Nintendo 64 or N64 was released in Japan in June of '96 and in the US September of 96. It's Nintendo's third home video game console for the international market, as well as Nintendo's last home console to use cartridges before moving to the mini DVD for the game cube and then to the standard sized disc for the Wii. Here's a little look inside the console as I cleaned it to ship to SethGko. I didn't pull out all the components as I did my SNES, but you get the point! Click the images for a larger view.
